OVERVIEW

Paradise Beach, Bantayan Island

Caption: Paradise Beach, Bantayan Island

Bantayan Island is one of the most popular travel destinations in Central Visayas.  The island is most known for its white sand beaches, particularly Paradise Beach, also known as Sandira Beach.  True to its name, the beach is a tiny piece of paradise tucked away in a secluded part of the island.  Its fine white sand and pristine waters on top of its peaceful ambience make the beach a perfect spot to relax, appreciate the beauty of nature, and refuel so you can fight and win more challenges when you get back to the city.

On the shore are small cliffs and caves, and not too far from the shore is a small reef that you can explore and meet different marine creatures.

Take a taxi or myBus to the North Bus Terminal.  MyBus leaves the Mactan-Cebu International Airport every 30 minutes from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.  Fare is P25 ($0.50 USD).

If you opt to ride a taxi, expect to pay between P200 ($4 USD) to P300 ($6 USD) depending on traffic conditions.

At the North Bus Terminal, board a bus for Hagnaya Port.  A bus leaves every 30 to 60 minutes while the travel time is around four hours.  The fare is between P165 to P200 depending on the type of bus.

You can also take a v-hire (passenger van), a shared van with hotel pickup, or a private car with hotel pickup.

Board a ferry to Santa Fe Port.  Two shipping companies ply the Hagnaya-Santa Fe route: Island Shipping and Super Shuttle.  The first trip leaves as 1:00 AM while the last trip is 5:30 PM.  The fare is P90 for children, P144 for students, and P185 for regular passengers.

After paying for your ticket, you also need to pay the P10 terminal fee and P30 environmental fee.
