OVERVIEW

Sohoton Cave, Samar Natural Park, Samar, Philippines

The park also features subterranean rovers, waterfalls, a cave system with interesting stalactites and stalagmites, and dense forest inhabited by an array of flora and fauna, many can be found only in the Philippines.

There are several activities one can do in the park in addition to hiking and sightseeing.  Feast your eyes on lush greenery when you cruise Kadak-an River, discover the secrets of the caves, and kayak the gorge under the natural stone bridge.  There is also a visitor center and eco-lodge where you can relax, introduce your palate to Waray specialties, shop for souvenir items made by local weavers and the indigenous people.

The park was first established in 1935 as Sohoton Natural Bridge National Bridge and was renamed as the Sohoton Cave Natural Park and finally to Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park.  This wondrous natural park is not to be confused with Sohoton Cove, a group of small islets in Surigao del Norte.
